Well humans have always been better at uniting against a common foe.
And I think that when they get past this first hurdle – trying to minimise the carbon dioxide outputs – and they realise that they haven’t really solved the problem because they were too late and climate change is part of long term planetary processes anyway – then they will be able to get onto another level of unity which is caring for all humans wherever they live and giving them a living wherever it can be had. And expect a greater variety of solutions from local to national once we can use the war chests for the greater good. I think the climate change will induce technological benefits for humanity surpassing the 20th century.
