17 – 20 May 2009. I am the convenor of the 10th National Rural Health Conference being held in Cairns, tropical north queensland, Australia. We are testing the idea of a Community Skills Workshop on the 17th. This is a day for the conference to provide a service to the regional community / consumers. The program for our inaugural workshop is fantastic. We are offering it for a mere $22- per head, including lunch, at the world reknowned Cairns Convention Centre.
The Program for the conference main is equally fantastic. As well as taking on the frontline challenges for health services across 95% of Australia’s geography, for the first time we are looking at the health issues of climate change and regional development. I am very pleased to be able to say that we will be holding a first class policy strong conference. The arts-in-health stream is stronger than ever and I would like to make a personal thanks to Arts Nexus of Cairns for their work on this part of the program.
